Installing Drupal

Indeed, is there any plans to make one node type be cable to contain files and images and links to other nodes ?

In forum, can I link to a file node ?

I'm looking at using Drupal for a web site I'm administering but my ISP wont allow access to crontab or background/daemon processes.

Is there any workable alternative to crontab and to background processes generally so that I can use Drupal?

i'm trying to develop with the XTemplate scheme, but this problem seems to be happening across all drupal on my system...

whenever i add HTML tags into a body window, after submitting i see backslashes (\) have been added before my quote marks, rendering the HTML unusable...

i have checked my magic_quotes settings, and they are 0 in both the php.ini and .htaccess file, so i am a little stumped as to what's happening...

I keep getting the following error in my error log file for whichever link I click.

PHP Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 4 bytes in E:\www\webroot\drupal\includes\common.inc on line 175, referer: http://mydomain.com/?q=search

I use PHP 4.3.3. Is there any resolution for this problem.

since i installed the friendly url's, i think they have become a bit too friendly, for bots at least. i see google adding comments to my nodes.

the first time this happend i set the comment setting to "must preview", then "submit" and this solved the problem. now it seems google is using the traceback link to post an empty comment
