Installing Drupal

The drupal d/b has been created and the tables entered successfully, in accordance with Drupal handbook steps 1-3.

I've progressed to point 4 on the drupal instalation : connecting drupal, but when I enter localhost/drupal it comes up with a blank screen.

I think it is probably an incorrect setting in conf.php - I have the following lines within the db_url section:

I have finally been able to pull the site up (past step 4) but now when i have to create the administrative account by clicking on the create account i get this message and i have no idea what to do:

I run drupal on a Linux server. Due to change of platform to W2K I copied the files and DB. installed it on IIS and MySQL. did install /php/pear. get an error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in D:\HOME\vcwaterland\wwwroot\includes\conf.php on line 50

I've installed Foxserv 3.0 and it seems to work ok. I can open apache monitor and mySql and get the green light.

When i go to the localhost from the F/s c/panel it offers me a few links including phpMyadmin. If i click on that i get to mySqladmin 2.2.6 and the option of selecting drupal from the list of databases on the left, but then i don't know how to proceed.

I unzipped the drupal files to c:/foxserve/www/drupal

I am new to drupal. Please help.

I couldn't finish step 3. "$ mysql -u nobody -p drupal < database/database.mysql" on the install doc. I am using 1and1 web hosting and doesn't have the access to the database host site. Can someone tell me how to load the database

I have PHP and MySQL in my web server but I have a windows environment in my machine.

Can anybody help me to understand how to install the scripts and to create the MySQl database?
