user 1 can't log in despite database password MD5 replace

Hello all. I'm a complete newbie; have hit a wall almost immediately in my installation/configuring of Drupal (Civicspace 8.2, MySQL 4.1.15, phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl3, hosted on dreamhost; first site of an attempted multi-site installation.)

I can no longer log in.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I've searched the support threads here and elsewhere and applied verbatim the reparative steps suggested. No luck.

Error:

Sorry. Unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?

My last actions prior to this problem were uploading custom theme images for a variation on the pushbutton theme. Also changed from a public 'files' folder at accessible site level to private 'todownload' folder at the home level; thought I'd managed to sort out most of the issues that process caused through persistence and copying the content from 'files' to 'todownload'.

The password/username that isn't working is for the single user account that exists, UID 1. Mail's not yet set up, so the site can't email me the password. Nor can it seem to create new users through the front-end interface; because that would need administrative authorization from me. I've read the excellent tips here about resetting passwords in the datbase; have done exactly that 3 times. Still no succes with login.

I've also renamed the UID 1 user using first a query, and then, when that elicited no change in the login behaviour, I repeated the process by editing the field manually in phpMyAdmin. The login page still didn't recognize the changed name, so I set it back.

filemanager-private.patch not applied with Asidfree self-test

After configured filemanager and acidfree modules I ran acidfree test page. Everything is OK but only one error:
......
filemanager-private.patch not applied. Acidfree will still work, but your protected nodes' files will not be protected as well. Follow the instructions that came with the Acidfree distribution to patch the Filemanager module if you are using a node_access module.

Errors were detected. Please correct the above errors before you do anything else with Acidfree.

PHP-4.3.11 for RHEL3 variants (RHEL, CentOS3, Whitebox3)

Hi folks,

For a while, i've been trying to run drupal-4.7beta3 on my CentOS-3.5 (RHEL3 variant) machine. Unfortunately, as many people know, the RHEL3 variants only are updated through php-4.3.2.

I had found the posting http://drupal.org/node/29108 which talks about how to 4.6.3 working on RHEL3, however, the links to atomicrocketturtule.com were all dead.

I searched high and low for PHP rpms post-4.3.3 on this site, as well as the CentOS and RHEL sites, but could not find anything.

Being the RH fiend that i am these days i didn't want to scrap my RPMs and build from source. I wanted to upgrade my RPMS and try to keep them as close to RH stock as possible.

So, i finally bit the bullet and tried to compile my own RPMs of php in order to be able to run the newer versions of drupal. As mentioned, I wanted to keep the RPMs as close to stock RHEL as possible, so i tried downloading a newer version of the PHP source and using the existing PHP-4.3.2.spec file. However, that didn't work so well since there were too many changes, so i did what i thought was the next best thing...to use the Fedora RPMs. I found php-4.3.11 RPMS from Fedora Core 3 (i didn't use FC4 because that was php-4.4.x, and i didn't want to upgrade that far). I took the php-4.3.11 RPM and compiled it (along with the packages that php-4.3.11 depends on) on my CentOS-3.5 machine.

Migration Problems

Hi,
I am running into quite a serious problem and I am hoping someone can help me. I have been forced to move my drupal database to another linux distro, and I am running into huge issues trying to install my drupal database.

I just did a mysqldump from my old server and I have the files and everytime I try to upload them I get the following error message:

ERROR 1064 at line 21: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 7
