Error one intial load of drupal

Hey when the drupal screen loads for the first time, it shows up on a white background with broken images. The text appears to be working just fine. I have not tried creating the admin account yet, I figured one thing at a time. Has anyone seen this type of problem before? I removed the extra space at the bottom of the settings.php file. Also seems like maybe perms are not right on the folders server the images etc. But I checked and they all say 755. The png's though have a 644. Should all the drupal files have 755?

Just installed but I don't see anything!

I've just installed drupal 4.6 on my PC (I also have Apache, PHP5 and MySQL). Started it up, created the first account (very weird first page by the way!). It complained that it didn't know what to do with email but displayed my user page where I was able to change the password.
Now when I go back, I get that first welcome page again, as if there is no first user. If I try to go into that first user section again it says access denied. There is no login section!
What have I done wrong?

main page error

can anyone tell me what is broken in this test-site at http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal47 ?
I upgraded from 4.6.4

DB connection issues at install

I've worked my way through the installation steps and am hung up on the db_url variable. I have confirmed syntax (as I was concerned about how this hoster was configuring this) through a generic php connection test. So I know my username, password, hostname, and dbname are solid. After putting these in the settings.php file and going to the url via http, it just presents the setting.php content. I do not get the Drupal install routine, an error or anything. Any ideas? Permissions do not appear to be an issue. The system is running Fedora and 4.0.24 version of MySQL.

IIS -- Template variables not parsing

Hello

I'm new to Drupal. I've got a 4.6 install on IIS, PHP5, and Mysql 4x. My pages templates are not being created correctly. The pages are showing up with the template variables still in them. Is there a folder that needs to be created for cached templates. The install directions mentions setting a path to a files folder, however I can't follow the instructions into the admin panel to set the files directory path. Does anyone know where or what or why ... meh.

Thanks

LDAP role mapping issues

I've been having issues with mapping Active Directory users to specific roles using LDAP integration (Dec 17 release). I've tried singling out the OU= field in the distinguished name per user without success, and I've tried determining the role through a user attribute, which I am able to see in the user profile after I log a AD user in through drupal, but also to no success.

Is there something that needs to be changed in conf.php? Or do I need to do something else?

Thanks,
Thomas Gorgolione
