PixelClever commentedI'm not exactly sure what zen is doing, but I am using this on multiple themes with no issue like this, so if for some reason zen is going bonkers then you should dig into the css (and perhaps javascript) that is being used on your site and find the conflict. I am not going to write in conditional overrides programmatically to fix one theme when it should be handled on the theme level. Besides zen is in Beta for 6, you should expect anomalies.
I am moving this issue to the Zen queue (my apologies to that maintainer).

Jeff Burnz commentedTry switching off block editing.

igorik commentedHi, same problem.
E.g. with Gallery, After enabling gallery, Internet Explorer fails with load site css files.
Change to other theme problem solved, but I have a zen so it was no solution.
In that case with gallery I had to add own
I don't know what could be problem, but it when gallery css are loaded in head
print $stylesand it broke this in zen theme.
It is possible that it will be another problem, I am not the developer, I just wrote what I found.
Problem is with Internet Explorer only.
I had this problem on Drupal5, now on Drupal 6 too.
thanks for nice theme

johnalbin@igorik: If you are talking about the Gallery module, then this is not the same problem. ryumkin is talking about the JQuery menu module.

damienmckennaExperiencing this with v6.x-1.0 on Safari.

jjclint commentedany luck in solving this issue?
I'm using Drupal 6.10 and zen and jquery menu as well and I can report having the same issue with IE.
Funny enough but IE6 actually yields better results displaying jquery menu. The bug in ie6 just places the bullet icons on the last line of each menu item, instead of placing it on the first line.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

mrfelton commentedNot sure if this is the same issue or not, but it does relate to zen+jquerymenu. When I turn down a menu item, the child items appear, and then disappear instantly.
mrfelton commentedAnd... switching off block editing as per #2 fixes the problem.
EDIT: half fixes the problem. Items no longer completely disappear from the menu, but if I have two menu items expanded and then close the first one, the bullet point from the second expanded item remains where it is (it should move up with the rest of the menu items).
EDIT: Bizarrely, I managed to track my problem down to this (which is styling I added myself):
It seems that jquerymenu does not work when there is a css background image behind it?! Internet Explorer is weird.
EDIT:
But... if I add the background image to #sidebar-left instead of #sidebar-left-inner, like this, it's fine:

johnalbinDo you have CSS aggregation on or off? IE is limited to 31 stylesheets. Any more then that and it will ignore the rest. See #256802: IE limits Drupal to 31 stylesheets total

clashar commentedDo you mean to switch off module "Block edit" (http://drupal.org/project/block_edit) or what?

Anonymous (not verified) commentedDid anyone have any further thoughts on this problem?
I would like to use Jquery Menu, but am having the type of problem discussed here with IE6 & IE7 - it seems that any kind of background colour applied to the Jquery Menu causes functional problems with these browsers.
What I'm seeing is on expansion the "+" for the menu item that was immediately below the expanded item staying where it was.
Also, when a menu is expanded and collapsed the "+" disappears from the item immediately below.
Quite why the application of a backgound colour affects functionality is beyond me, but is anyone could give me any pointers it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan

Anonymous (not verified) commentedNothing further needed on this by me - I'm now using DHTML Menu which, with a couple of patches, now gives the same functionality as Jquery and works fine with IE6 & 7.
