Can't Append a separator to the end of the breadcrumb without appending content title

I'm seeing this problem with Zen sub themes.

I can't check the box for "Append a separator to the end of the breadcrumb" because it is disabled until I check the box for "Append the content title to the end of the breadcrumb."

The problem is that I don't want to "Append the content title to the end of the breadcrumb" but I do want to "Append a separator to the end of the breadcrumb."

I finally got this to work my commenting out the code in Zen/theme-settings.php

$form['breadcrumb']['breadcrumb_options']['zen_breadcrumb_trailing'] = array(
    '#type'          => 'checkbox',
    '#title'         => t('Append a separator to the end of the breadcrumb'),
    '#default_value' => theme_get_setting('zen_breadcrumb_trailing'),
    '#description'   => t('Useful when the breadcrumb is placed just before the title.'),
    // '#states' => array(
    //   'disabled' => array(
    //     ':input[name="zen_breadcrumb_title"]' => array('checked' => TRUE),
    //   ),
    // ),
  );

After commenting out the code above, I was able to only select "Append a separator to the end of the breadcrumb" and it worked correctly.
