I get this error when I've recently installed the Zen theme and am saving the configuration for it. This error message shows up in the Watchdog log -- the error message is "An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator."

I'm not sure what is misconfigured or how to avoid this problem.

zen-columns-liquid _is_ an invalid choice. That's an option in Zen 7.x-3.x
