echoz commentedSince this could relate to any theme, not zen specific, you could also post in the Post installation forum, and hopefully get more eyes on this.

shruti.sheth commentedHi Fazil,
I think if you want to use same theme with different layouts for mobile and desktop then the use of media queries should be done, so that depending on the screen resolutions you can show/hide regions with different widths.
As we all know, for page layouts Panels module is used widely, there is no such contributed module for theme specific layouts. You can even try Spark theme if it helps.
Thanks,
Shruti Sheth

christopher james francis rodgers commentedMy understanding is that this is being addressed for you automatically as of Zen 7.x-5.x.
With the step up from Zen 7.x-3.x, the new Zen is responsive, with Mobile use being of primary concern.
Zen's creator, John Albin, is currently involved in Drupal 8 theming guidelines, and the applicability of Zen to HTML5, Mobile use, SASS (SCSS), etc, etc; and he does take such matters seriously.
As best I can tell, and although he has not been around the Zen issues que for months now, whenever he returns, he will be bringing state-of-the art with him ... as best I can tell, since I do not know him personally, and I only see the results of his work here and there around Drupal.org.
I am not worried. I am, however, infinitely patient-- you can not rush perfection.
Anyway... Zen 7.x-5.4 is in pretty good shape if you want a "responsive" design.
Hope that helps.
