Is it possible to use Zen Grids 2.0? Can it be updated or is the Beta too unstable? I am interested if there is a timeline to have 2.0 implemented.

To answer my own first question. I was able to implement Zen Grids 2.0 beta 1 by removing the contents of sass-extensions/zen-grids/ and replacing it with the new version (https://github.com/JohnAlbin/zen-grids).

There were some changes that needed to be implemented in my _responsive.scss as per: https://github.com/JohnAlbin/zen-grids/issues/44 by using 'find and replace'.

Some major changes are in _init.scss the @import "zen"; becomes @import "zen-grids"; and the removal of zen-nested-container() which is now accomplished with using zen-grid-container( $context: [value] ) see: http://next.zengrids.com/reference/grids/#mixins

Things seem to be working. Plus the new features are great! Hopefully, 2.0 will be in the mix soon.

I believe we have a choice to locate Zen Grids either in your theme or installed locally (as will be in Zen 7.x-6.x, that will no longer bundle Zen Grids). Uncomment "require 'zen-grids'" in config.rb to use Zen Grids installed locally. Related #1789780: Require Zen Grids to installed separately from Zen

If you decide to use Zen Grids 2 in beta, this changelog can help with needed edits.
