I started looking at the yr_verdata module , since I will use it for one new site I am currently working on. So , I was wondering if it would be useful to have the option in each block configuration page from the yr_verdata blocks to choose weather you want in this specific block to display only current weather , or next forecast or how many days forecast to display..
It came to me since it is nice to have in the front page of the website the current weather with 3 days let's say forecast ( which is like the standar appearence in weather widgets ).

I have already started to implement this (probably I will try to use in the new project) and this how the block configuration page looks like
screenshot

The data are collected and saved after form submission in variables (every block gets its own variable)

The problem is that Yr.no doesn't offer information for the current weather (only forecast) but one way to implement this is to keep the immediately next forecast (weather in 3 hours) from previous update as the current weather maybe in a variable (so that we don't mess with the xml file).
Also there is no summary of the weather for next days (let's say the minimum and maximum temp of a day) which also has to be extracted/calculated from the xml file..

I would be glad to hear any suggestions..

This is an interesting idea. The implementation should not be too difficult, but I am concerned about filling the block with "too much". I appreciate the input, and will try to come up with something :)

Hi, any progress on this one?
Or maybe do you want to share your solution?

I was looking for the exact same procedure: a 3 day forecast block.

Any suggestion on how to archive it is welcome.
thanks in advance
