Hi, I've installed xml sitemap on my Drupal 6 site but the sitemap isn't being generated, even when I run cron. I've never had a problem using this module before on my Drupal 5 sites. My sitemap.xml file contains this data:

Thanks for your help.

Have you enabled any of the sub-modules (xmlsitemap_node, xmlsitemap_taxonomy, etc)?

I am having the same issue.

I have enabled xmlsitemap, xmlsitemap_node, and xmlsitemap_search_engines. I have configured it as far as I can tell, and gotten the message that the cache directory has been created. I have run cron, and also toyed with setting the flag to mark the sitemap needing to be updated, also tried flushing caches and regenerating. I do not see any errors in my drupal log.

I am not sure what else to do. The sitemap doesn't seem to be in the cache directory, and visiting example.com/sitemap.xml just returns a 404.

I am using lighttpd which is the only non-default thing I can imagine, but clean urls work fine, so I don't think is the issue (and wouldn't account for why the file doesn't seem to be generated in the first place).

I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

- Do you have the dblog module enabled and have any 'xmlsitemap' type messages on admin/reports/dblog?
- Have you checked your server's error logs?
- Can you link to the problematic site so I can help debug?

Most likely a rewrite rule for the .xml extension is also needed since the file will not exist and by default you are not going to be forwarding requests for .xml => index.php.

"^/([^.?]*\.xml)$" => "/index.php?q=$1"

@stevebo77: With Drupal's shipped .htaccess it actually should be passing those requests to Drupal if there is no actual sitemap.xml file that exists in the root folder.

Of course, if this is lighttpd, I'm not sure. If this is a default config problem for lighttpd, please add it to the module's handbook page of 'Known issues' (http://drupal.org/node/482550)

I am having the same problem with no links showing in the sitemap. If you want a link to my site for debugging go to:
http://www.thecfaa.com (or https://thecfaa.com). The sitemap is at https://thecfaa.com/sitemap.xml

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

+1 for sitemap.xml not being generated

#6 your problem is a bit different, as for us the sitemap.xml is not generated at all.

I checked the log entries but all it says that sitemap.xml "Page not found"

This started with one of the latest updates. Will try the dblog.

My site is at www.reviewcritical.com

Rebuilding the sitemap fixed it for me :)

I was having this same problem (including the fact that I am using lighttpd), and stevebo77's solution worked for me, but I also had to add another rule except with .xsl instead of .xml to get the stylesheet to work.

Guess I'll mark this as fixed then. :)
