The sitemap contains the tag <changfreq>, which should be <changefreq>.
Also, the code uses <changfreq>, but </changefreq>.

This is a completely different issue from the one you are describing; you must open a new report, and explain better what the problem is.

Take in mind that a browser doesn't report only errors, and that most of the times it's not a bug of the module. I remember how many people opened a bug report because the browser was saying that the XML content was without style, and it was showing the XML tree. Take with grano salis what the browsers report, especially if it's Internet Explorer.
