If I select the priority of a node to 0.5 it does not accept it it always give 0.8 priority
is it related to this post http://drupal.org/node/456288 or I have a different bug

avpadernoThe node priority is the sum of different priorities: the base priority, and the priority assigned to the nodes promoted in front page; the first has a default value of 0.5, while the second has a default value of 0.3.
That explains why you see a priority of 0.8.

halisemre commentedok I understand do you think it is a good idea to give 0.8 to the nodes?

avpadernoThe sitemap priority is only a value that orders the links in the sitemap; I guess that the search engines normally use it to calculate the importance of the links. If you believe that a node has a priority too high, you can set a value that overrides the default calculated priority.
