I updated to the 5.x-2.x Dev version because I started running into PHP memory limits with my site map (14k+ nodes) and I noted that this had been "fixed" in this version. Hosting provider won't increase the memory available to the process.
However the 2.x version doesn't work with my hosting provider because it takes too long to generate the host file. Constantly getting "Lost connection to mysql server" errors.
At this point I want to get to a situation where there is no trace of "xml sitemap" and then reinstall and revert back to the 5.x-1.6 version or get to a state where I have a fresh and clean 5.x-2.x install. I simply cannot get the database entries into t he right state.
Does someone have a recipe or script for cleaning up and dropping this module?

Anonymous (not verified) commented@yhzsailor: Are you still needing help?
1) Increase php memory limit in the .htaccess file
a) the provider may not allow this, if not find a new provider.
b) php_value memory_limit 64K
2) If you still have the current 2.x version installed
a) admin/build/modules, uncheck the modules and submit.
b) admin/build/modules/uninstall, check the modules, submit and confirm.
3) If you do not have the current version installed
a) drop the xmlsitemap tables from the DB.

yhzsailor commentedEarnie, I've still got the problem but I've not worked at the issue for a while... focusing on some other improvements. I have another open issue on the performance of xmlsitemap and there was a follow-up on that ticket on how to optimize the xmlsitemaps queries when using pathauto. I will try that as well as, in addition to adding additional php memory I do think the query should be optimized. If it works I think it should be suggested as an improvement to the overall module for performance reasons. I'll follow-up when I do get to looking at this.

avpadernoUninstalling XML Sitemap is not different from uninstalling any other module; if the uninstall function doesn't correctly uninstall the modules, you can do it manually.
