The workflow_node_history table appears to be transactional in concept, but stores primarily indexes that reference other tables. Specifically, i'm talking about the 'uid' field which becomes useless when the drupal user it references is deleted.

I'm requesting a feature to store also the name / username of the user in the workflow_node_history table. Ideally a serialized value containing the login name, first name, last name and email address. But, really just a human readable name to handle the case where a user is deleted would be sufficient.

Thanks!

Sorry, this didn't make it. There were problems with access and anonymous users, but that hass been solved.
Some alternatives:
- implement a hook_user_delete to add a comment to every node/change a comment in the transition history.
- do not delete the user, but block the account.
