menu item and permissions?

Given the following main menu structure

Home
Requests
-General Requests
-Request 1
-Request 2
Reports
-Report 1
-Report 2

Users with Role 1 can see Request 1 and Report 1 and General Requests
Users with Role 2 can see Request 2 and Report 2 and General Requests
Anon users can General Requests and an EMPTY Reports menu.

Is there a way to hide the Reports menu if there are no links available to the user?
