Wrong field option in Views sort criteria

When selecting Weight as the sort criteria for a View, the only option is "Weight: Weight" which is described as "The weight of the node, formatted as a form element." There is no option for "Weight: Weight value" which is described as "The weight of the node" when adding a sort criteria but it is available when adding it as a field to the View results. Should "Weight: Weight value" be the field to sort, not a field that produces a form select list?

When selecting "Weight: Weight" it appear the sort does work correctly.
