I am just getting into Drupal, and have been browsing through the module categories on drupal.org. It has been an incredibly time-consuming and frustrating experience, basically because so many modules are in more than one category. I can see why this is an option, as developers want to make modules widely visible, but it has been painful to browse categories and already recognise many modules, sometimes from more than one previous category.

Can action be taken, to either make it one category per module, or some other system to make the experience more pleasant in this situation?

NB Just to make it I'm not flaming, of course I appreciate everything that developers have done to make this project what it is.

strange idea - that is the great thing about the internet - you can find the same items from different angles - for someone sailing might be sport for the other it might be recreational activity - you suggest to exclude one or the other? ;-)
