The modules currently located under the "Download" link (see http://drupal.org/node/view/2477) should also have short descriptions on the page. This prevents the annoying task of having to click on each README file individually to read what the module does, and then clicking back to check the next module.

There have been dozens of suggestions as how to improve the download page. To make it happen someone should create a "mini freshmeat module".
