URL field size too narrow/short

Some URLs that I would like to keep in weblink are longer than 128 characters. Please increase the size of the URL fields in the database!

For instance, the following is a damned sorry excuse for a URL, but that's all the more reason why I want to keep it as a weblink, rather than have multiple references to it in other nodes. This is 264 characters long.
