The functionality provided here has been superceeded by variant support in Webforms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This module provides a Webform container designed to contain multiple composite elements. The visibility of each element must be conditional and only zero or one elements should be displayed at a time. Visibility is typically based on another Webform element such as a select element.
This module changes how the data is loaded and stored. It will be stored as if it was part of the first composite element in the container. This simplifies the use of Webform Views since only the first composite element will ever contain data.
A typical Webform layout with a Webform Alias Container looks like this:
- Select element
- Alias Container
- Composite 1
- Composite 2
- Composite 3
The first element must specify an unlimited number of items or a number of items other than one if any of the other elements in the container have a number other than one. The fields in the first element should be a superset of elements within the other composites.
One scenario for using this type of container is where each composite defines the same fields but a different number of items. For example, Composite 1 requires 2 items, Composite 2 requires 4 items and Composite 3 requires 9 items. A single composite element with a maximum of 9 items would provide the same range of items but it could not force the user to enter the desired number of items.
Another scenario has common subelements within each composite element but which subelements are being used will depend upon which composite is visible.
Use a Composite 1 that is a superset of subelements that is always hidden if none of the other composite elements contains the superset.
