Hello all,

I want to tackle a complicated user registration/service subscription procedure. I would like to off-load the subscription procedure to a webform. After a user registers he has to fill in a webform in order to apply for certain site services.

It would be cool if some of the information that goes into this subscription form, is copied over to the users "Profile" node. Could that be doable automaticaly through the rule or workflow module? Does webform interoperate with these mods?

Webform submissions do not create nodes and there is no way to use existing modules to convert a submission to a node. I've seen some users creating nodes through the additional submission code or using the hooks in the 3.x version (hook_submission_presave()). Usually this is done by building up a node object manually and then calling node_save() on it.

OK thanks for the hint. I understand that webform does not create nodes, the question is whether I could make some fancy rules to trigger the creation of one. Is there any code snippets I could look into?
