upunkt commentedFigured it out. The E-mail-from-name field does not accept umlauts and special characters. This should not be the case.
danchadwick commentedIssues with international characters in e-mail addresses need to be addressed in the D8 branch. There is another issue for the To field.

quicksketchThis is how all e-mail headers are formatted if they contain UTF-8 characters, it's in the standard for e-mail itself. See
http://ncona.com/2011/06/using-utf-8-characters-on-an-e-mail-subject/
http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc1342/
So it may be that your mail client simply does not support encoded headers, rather than Webform doing anything incorrect here. However, it may also be that Webform is doing the encoding, but not doing it correctly.

danchadwick commentedThere is a different issue for supporting UTF-8 in the actual e-mail address. As I recall, the reasonable solution was to wait until it's fixed in core, which I think is happening in D8. Would need to re-research this though.
