I've been struggling with an issue today that I just can't seem to figure out.
I have a small webform that includes a file upload that I want to email upon submission.
The email sends correctly (using MIMEmail and SMTP authentication modules) but there is no attachment.
I'm running drupal 7.23 on a corporate intranet site running ubuntu 12.04 as a virtual machine.

quicksketchJust double-checking, but you did enable the "Send files as attachment" option when you configured the e-mail under the Webform -> E-mails tab, right? Webform is sending e-mails with attachments fine for me. Given the complexities of sending e-mails, this may be a server-side or configuration issue rather than a bug in Webform.

eyenology commentedYes, I did enable "Send files as attachment".
I'll look into server config and see if something is amiss. I'm running the Basic Webmail module and I am able to send attachments successfully which is why I'm wondering if it has something to do with Webform.

schmidtk commentedSimilar problem, using Webform 7.x-4.0-beta3 and mimemail 7.x-1.0-beta1 - email comes through, uploaded files are linked correctly, but they're not attached.
Downgrading to mimemail 7.x-1.0-alpha2 fixed things for me. But the beta1 mimemail release appears to add a 'send arbitrary email' permission that needs to be turned on in order to work, even for users in the administrator role. I didn't test that as extensively.
Never saw anything amiss in my logs.

niketius commentedI have a similiar problem.
The mails sent by the webform do not contain the attachment anymore.
I think that behaviour appeared after upgrading to a newer version but I am not very sure about that.
Maybe someone has a hint where I can start to investigate?
Thanks and regards
Tom

quicksketchThanks guys, I think this is an issue with MIME Mail. I've confirmed MIME Mail won't send any private files, but public files still work correctly. To temporarily work around the problem, you must grant all roles "send arbitrary files" permission. The issue in the MIME Mail queue is #2183955: Private File System and image not being embedded - Could someone advice me..
