Actually we can only send a CC to a customer. It would be nice if we could send a real confirmation. For this we need a form to define the text and use the submitted variables. We could reuse the feature request 130120.

With the attached patch you can select if a customer gets a 'real' email or a CC'd.

Actually the email component has the option to CC the submitted values to the entered address. Now you can also define if the CC should contain the normal admin message or a customer message (at the moment the submitted data without debug and IP). This is useful to prevent the customer see admin values. This patch is also a first step toward the feature request 130120.

In the 2.x branch of webform, emails are sent individually rather than a single email containing CC fields. If needed, you can theme the emails sent out to make a "receipt" version of the email that is sent out to the user. As I mentioned in http://drupal.org/node/130120 however, making individual emails within the interface of webform is too complicated to be done without PHP coding, so it's being kept in the theme layer.
