Hi,
I am about to launch a site which will be used mainly for intercommunication among academics, governments' officials, and NGOs to exchange views and discuss activities related to genocide prevention.
The site will also store documents using webfm. While the users are going to be a group of very smart people, not all of them have used online forums and an online DMS before.

Instead of me having to rewrite the bible, is there somewhere a userguide/help tips which I could send my users, or better, attach to webfm which will explain in plain English how to upload documents, attach them to forum-topics and comments, etc?

A very fine suggestion. I was simply going to direct you to the online docs at drupal.org but I just realized that they changed things again. I have re-submitted some of those pages to http://drupal.org/handbook/config/contribmodules and there is now a 'Web File Manager' entry.

Feel free to add a 'Usage' page for non-administrators which it is currently lacking.
