i can select the slider as the slideshow mode in views, but it doesn't seem to do anything at all. it just displays a single image. i tried messing around with the settings, but to no avail. any suggestions? i have the jquery update and the jquery ui modules installed with the latest stable version of jquery ui. am i missing something?

just thought of this: is there something in the code that makes in necessary for the modules to be in /sites/all/modules? because i have all of my modules installed in /modules/ in the home directory

Its not necessary, you are just shooting yourself in the leg when it comes to core update. Is jquery update the development version? Any javascript errors? jquery ui library downloaded and put into place?

i had jquery update 6.x-1.1 installed and i just switched it to the newest dev version 6.x-2.0-alpha1 but it didn't make a difference. the juqery ui library is 1.8.2 and it's in modules/jquery_ui/jquery.ui and still nothing. do i need to have the settings set specifically in the view or something?

edit: no javascript errors either. i just see the first image in my slideshow

this module was built with jquery ui 1.7.x, not 1.8.x.

hm still nothing... i downloaded the legacy 1.7 package from jqueryui.com and uploaded the whole package as jquery.ui but i think that might be the problem. what should the first file be in the /jquery_ui/jquery.ui/ directory?
