Hi MrVicktor,

This filter can be used to provide a small variety of combinations in which you can allow users to use your view.

The main purpose is to allow users to choose which fields they can include/exclude in a particular instance. So if you would like, you can give the users the ability to include/exclude all the fields of the view, or if you like, you can make certain fields 'sticky', by not giving the users the ability to select those fields in this exposed filter.

When you setup the filter in the view, you can choose which fields you would to be included in this filter. If say your view has 4 fields for simplicity's sake:
Nid
Title
Teaser
Body

And if you want to keep the 'nid' field sticky always (i.e. 'nid' should always be part of whatever combination of fields the user chooses to view), you can exclude this field from appearing in the filter. There are checkboxes next to each field of the view in the filter settings. By default all fields will be included in the exposed filter. However you can unselect some which means that they will always be displayed.

I hope I have answered you question but if I haven't, please tell me what you are looking for in your view and perhaps I can show you how to do it.

Girish
