Thanks for providing this module in 7.x...it looks very useful.

I'm having trouble installing, however. Using either drush or wget to install the module, I get the same error trying to enable. On
drush en views_datasoure
The system reports that the extension is not found, and do I wish to download it.
I answer yes, then it warns that the location already exists...answering yes to overwrite says that it is downloaded, then says that views_datasource was not found.
And loop...
See screenshot.

The module does not show up in the admin UI of course.
So...what's happening here?? Permissions are all set per normal.
Thanks!

boabjohn created an issue. See original summary.

I also experienced this on attempting install on a drush en views_datasource . Drush fetches the module and loops through trying to install and download. I think the issue is that ultimately you'll enable one of the four included plugin modules, e.g. views_json and there isn't actually any module to enable under views_datasource.

Same as @boabjohn

This has happened to me as well. At first, I thought it was related to this issue with drush:

https://github.com/drush-ops/drush/issues/2753

but it's far too old for this. My remedy was to answer no to the loop after the first download, then enter drush en views_json which then enabled the module.

If I have time I'll circle back to patch this.

I think this is indeed as #2 suggested because there isn't an actual module with the project name. The best way is probably to first download with drush dl and then enable the desired submodule with drush en.
