The video presets option allows me to create a full video and a second preset that clips my video to 2 minutes. The issue is displaying one or the other using some form of rule or access permissions.

I.E. Anon user sees 2 min clip but subscriber sees the full video.

I've hacked this to work by creating separate fields for full and clip with different field permissions. However, this requires that the video be uploaded twice and it requires more space in the s3 bucket for two copies of the original.

Anyone know a solution, for example building a link to the clip based of the full video using a token?

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Haven't tried personally, but should be doable.

You would need to create a new preset for conversion that trims the video (read here)

At that point you will essentially have two (or more) versions of the video that you can post and it becomes a permissions thing thereafter (probably the most difficult part)
