I wanted to have a WMV resized in Windows Media Player rather to fit within my boundaries rather than have several different files. I kept getting two bugs in Firefox only: The first was that doing almost any motion would cause it to flicker and sometimes lose the picture. The second was that while the media player had properly resized smaller, the WMV would still show at normal resolution and be cut off anywhere outside the media player. In IE, everything worked fine.

I ran across a solution. I hadn't realized that Microsoft had recently released a new Windows Media Player plug-in for Firefox. This fixes both of those problems. They also have a web page with some different implementation ideas and code.

While it might be nice to have an independent player solution, I guess my suggestion is to possibly add a link to this plugin somewhere in the "Problems viewing videos?" section.

You can set a default width for the video, in video settings
