As mentioned in Version control integration ideas for GSoC 2009, probably based on the default views we are willing to provide.

This now sounds strange.

We have an event subsystem, and a pending activity integration issue #498156: Integrate with triggers and the activity module, and actually cvangysel work at http://drupal.org/sandbox/stophr/1140414 to be merged, so this is now a duplicate.
