Hi,
when I try to vagrant up the machine I get the following error:

[2014-05-26T14:49:32+00:00] FATAL: Configuration error NoMethodError: undefined method `ssl_verify_mode' for main:Object
[2014-05-26T14:49:32+00:00] FATAL:   /tmp/vagrant-chef-1/solo.rb:24:in `load'
[2014-05-26T14:49:32+00:00] FATAL:   /tmp/vagrant-chef-1/solo.rb:24:in `from_string'
[2014-05-26T14:49:32+00:00] FATAL: Aborting due to error in '/tmp/vagrant-chef-1/solo.rb'

I managed to get this error fixed by following this post on SO (I renamed the file into something.chef and added the line Chef::Config.ssl_verify_mode = :verify_peer within it) but I'm not sure it is the best way.

You shouldn't rename the file :)
The better idea is to upgrade Vagrant.

Yeah, it was just a "quick and dirty" fix to understand the problem: I didn't realise I was running an old version of vagrant (sorry!).

I'm seeing the same issue with

vagrant --version
Vagrant 1.4.3

Is this version of Vagrant not supported? If so, it would be very helpful to add this to the README or project page.

Upgrading to Vagrant 1.5.4 resolved the issue for me.
