Create own variables list, with same UI as Content Types

I really miss the possibility to set up a Variable value list (with Tokens also) who is possible to reach from any other fields, modules and especially from the Rules Module - to collect some different values to fields.

I would be grate to be able to set up own variables, for different purpose of use.
I think Tax and VAT could be the most usable, but there is more needs... ie for values used in different user accounts fields, or common default values in fields belonging to different Content types.

Variable UI module can advantageously have the same location (place) and appearance as the Content Types does.

This wishes is for both Dp 7 and Dp 8... ;)
