I would like to have an "All" category as an option.
That way if any single category does not have enough, we could use "All" to see if the sum has enough.
then points can be deducted from the category with the largest points to the one with the least.

Is there any other module out there that treats userpoints categories as an aggregate? I can't think of one. It may be possible, but I'd have to try some things first...

After looking over a bunch of things, this seems like a pretty unique use-case. It seems to kind of go against the whole point of having categories for Userpoints. It would also be a lot of work and somewhat odd to get it to work in this module. It may make more sense to request this functionality in Userpoints and then report back here.
