Currently there is the add points action in Userpoints Rules integration, but no option to select which category the point is from.
Would anyone look into adding this feature to allow points from a specific category to be added with the rule.
Thank you very much in advance!

Curious if this is being worked on at all? I see several threads requesting this as a feature.
It would be ideal when choosing "Award Points To User", that you can choice category to add/subtract points to/from.

This opens up MUCH more flexibility. Many modules offer Category selection already, so I'm sure the code can be recycled and patched in.

I'm trying, but failing miserably. Is this planned, or just sitting idle?

Thanks for such a great module, my entire site revolves around it, and so far this is the only real hitch I've run into, that I can't work around.

Got it working! Please test, and confirm it works for you. I have only done basic tests, with latest versions of all modules involved.

Here's the revised userpoints_rules.rules.inc

I hacked it together pretty quickly, when I found it in another post. However it was included in a different file, and no longer compatible with the new structure.

I don't know how to create patches, so... so this file can just be dropped in.

Hopefully it can be committed. I believe this to be an ESSENTIAL feature.

Can you please submit this again as a patch? Read http://drupal.org/patch for details on how to do that.

hate to sound pathetic, but it was difficult for me to create the file as it was, if someone else could pick up the task of creating a patch that would be awesome. Windows and patching don't seem to get along all that well. Or maybe it's just me.

Either way I've tested this on a few use cases and it works perfectly for myself. Hoping others will have the same result.

Again thanks for a great module, I'm hoping my little contribution will be helpful to others.
