When the user goes to their /user page, the third tab across for viewing the transaction history does not use the names set in the config but is shown as "Points".

try clearing the cache. I had the same thing going. (drush cc all)

In retrospect: even after clearing the cache, the link is not translated: it still says: http://localhost/myuserpoints
