Using this module as some sort of user relationships/Organig Group "very light" option?

Hello there!
I need to use these "user tags" to set groups of people. Some sort of VERY light Organic Groups.

I mean, I don´t want to relate nodes or anything else to these groups, like OG module, but to simply set some users with the same tag so each one could check out what other users share the same tag. And only people tagged with the same tag could get to see that user´s list.
(Did I explained myself propperly or it sounds like gibberish? My english isn´t that accurate...)
OG is overkill, and I really need to create something like user relationships of frienship module, but automatically, so when I create a user can assign him a specific tag, and that´s it.
Those friendship modules cannot create automatic relations...

Any ideas? Can I use this module?
I´m having trouble to show each user´s tag in their profile, I thought it would have something to do with creating a views block, but cannot make it work. So as I cannot make this module work, I thought that maybe you could tell me if I´m in the right path here, or this module won´t do that at all.

Any help would be very much appreciated!
