I want my users to know when one of their friends creates a blog post, for example. Is this possible?
It would seem that the ur-relationships-actions block is what I am looking for, but that is not working for me. Help would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you!
Yep if you use User Relationships Views module, you can create a view (or an RSS feed) of content that is posted by your related users. I'm attaching an export of a view you can use as a starting point. It shows an "Associates" tab in your user account, where you can see content posted by your friends. Please see how to tweak this view into doing what you want. At least you'll want to perhaps un-expose the node type filter, and add or remove some of the fields in it.

ajayg commentedWould Activity module do the same thing? and not just posts, but any other action taken by User's relationships.

alex.k commented@ajayg thanks. Indeed it is a more complete solution than just displaying nodes. Hope it helps the original poster.

gallamine commentedThis view, along with the default "user_relationships_content" provided with the D6-1.0-beta10 release only displays content from TWO WAY relationships. For instance, I have a "friends" and a "fans" relationship - two way, and one way. The Views only show content from the "friends" relationship, not the "fans" relationship. Why is this? I've been struggling to find a workaround to no avail.
