When I try to upload a cvs file nothing happens. The table in db is empty and the file was no uploaded .

kahy commentedActually I realized the file is uploaded (it appears at cvs_.......txt in drupal's upload directory) but that's it..nothing happens then. I also tried it with Drupal 4.7 beta 4 and it works.. but doesn't work with beta 6
Comment #2
robert castelo commentedYeah, I updated it to 4.7 for beta 4, and then beta 5 broke it. I'll update it again once Drupal 4.7 is actualy released and stops being a moving target.
Try renaming your CSV file with a .txt extension could you let me know if that works (if it does I'll update the README file).
kahy commentedI tried to rename it to *.txt and, unfortunatelly, it doesn't work either. Could you please give me a clue where the problem could be, I'm willing to fix it, as it seems it'll take ages until 4.7 release is launched.

robert castelo commentedHere's another issue where this is discussed:
http://drupal.org/node/48202
Comment #5
grsingleton commentedUnder 4.6.6 the current module available for download causes the admin/module vanish. By vanish I mean that in admin mode selecting modules with user_import installed f rom user_import-4.6.0.tar.gz provides no html page, no page source so debugging is impossible.
So is there a version in cvs that does not exhibit this behaviour? I would like to use this module to help rebuild the users from a table that was created some time ago.
System is debian 2.4.24-1-686
apache is 1.3.33-6sarge1
drupal is 4.6.6
mysql is 4.0.24_Debian-10sarge1
I am guessing but the current tarball has some 4.7 stuff in it that is causing this problem.
grsingleton commentedAlso tried 1.10 and 1.9.2.1 same result.
robert castelo commentedCurrent 4.6 version is:
1.9.2.2
http://drupal.org/files/projects/user_import-4.6.0.tar.gz
Does this work for you?
grsingleton commentedNo. Same symptoms. This is why I updated this issue. i.e. if you cannot configure the module because it breaks admin/modules there is a problem.
robert castelo commentedCould it be a that installing the module takes you over your memory limit?
Which page is it that doesn't display:
yoursite.com/admin/modules
or
yoursite.com/admin/settings/user_import
Comment #10
grsingleton commentedyoursite.com/admin/modules
What memory would you recommend? Current setting in php is 16Mb.
robert castelo commentedyoursite.com/admin/modules page loads ALL modules installed, whether enabled or not. If you have enough modules installed you will go over your limit (whatever that is).
Try removing modules that you don't use - and by remove I mean take them out of your modules directory (not just disable).
grsingleton commentedThanks. Did not know that durpal loaded all modules whether enabled or disabled. Bumped php.ini to 30Mb and 4.6.0 works. Much obliged for your time.
robert castelo commentedDrupal only loads all modules on the module admin page, everywhere else only if they are enabled.
Glad it worked - happy importing ;-)
