The uniqueness widget doesn't seem to flag up content as similar by taxonomy term name, even though Solr has indexed these.

I think I have solr/uniqueness set up right, so I'm not sure why when I type 'keyword' into the title, the uniqueness widget doesn't bring up nodes tagged with 'keyword'... unless this is by design?

As noted in other issues, the solr code hasn't been tested very well... it may just not be implemented properly; patches are welcome!
