Hello

I am creating a organization website and need users to be able to associate themselves with a particular node/business during signup, so that when they publish content it is associated to that node/business. Each business has its own node. I am using Content Profile module combined with views to create a nodereference that lists all the businesses in the organization. this is a required field in the registration process and the "content profile" is being "used on registration".

I am also using uc_signup and it has worked great until I added the required field and "use on registration" for the content profile module. Now when the user signs up for the event everything works great (i am using the core profile module to collect the same information as the Content Profile module only it uses an open text field for the business name, which is okay for event registration, but will not work for content publishing) until they confirm the order, at which point they receive the error message saying their are missing fields required. These are the fields required in the content profile module, hence they are not completed during the checkout/signup process, but because they are required the user cannot be created, hence failure.

First throught (after banging my head several times) was to create separate roles for event registers and content publishers. If I could have gotten this to work with auto assign role module and content module it would not have been an acceptable user experience as the user would be required to fill in the same field twice during the publisher registration process because of the use of profile module in addition to the content profile module and also the user would be required to create one account for events and one for publishing, very confusing for them and probably a mess with them trying to use the same email for 2 different accounts.

Hence long story short, I think my only option is "content profile" with nodereferences support from UC_singup.
Event though "i think" this is my only option, I am very open to other suggestions. ALSO, I do have some budget to make this work if someone can help me.
If you would like to check out the current behaviour before responding, the site is in dev and a bit of a mess, but the flow oif checkout works here

and the you can see the normal registration process @ user/register

Thanks in advanced for any help/thoughts/suggestions/bones etc....

Update, after 2 hours of whiteboarding I have decided to only allow 1 user to create content from a business and hence will prepopulate this information or and admin will create the user for future businesses, thus eliminating the requirement for required fields and nodereferences during registration.

This is not quite the experience I was hoping, but it will suit my purposes for the time being. This being said, depending on cost I may be interested in the still sponsoring part of this development for future upgrades. Thanks to anyone who has taken anytime to look at this...
