As of now the validator function only checks if there is one (dot) and no (commas).
No matter what you set as currency formatting.
Not the best user experience for people that use (comma)s as decimal seperators.
I am aware that the prices are best saved as 12.000 in the databse.
Is it possible to change the $form['base'][‘xxxx_price'] (I think that's what they're called) in the validator function? Replace the custom dec.-seperator with a (dot), proceed to validate, and on success submit the new value (the one with the dot) to the form.
So you still get 12.000 formatted prices in the db but user can enter prices in their currency format.
I wish I could help more, but I'm a total git when it comes to form API.
Regards

pobster commentedYou could alter the output in your theme using the Format Currency module.
