Product Kits, Attributes and Manual Orders

I have created a product kit - all three products in the kit have attributes.

If a user creates an order themselves, they are presented with attribute options for each of the items in the kit, and then the items are added to the order. Viewing the order displays a line item for each item in the product kit - this is great.

However...

When creating a manual order, only the product kit is added and not line items for each item within the product kit. Also, no attribute options are available.

Hopefully this can be fixed, or I have set something up incorrectly.
