I downloaded and installed the twitter module. Everything was going fine, until I went in to input the sign in information. I get this message on the sign in screen:

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$basename in twitter_signin_admin_settings() (line 15 of /home/.../.../.../modules/twitter/twitter_signin/twitter_signin.pages.inc).
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$basename in twitter_signin_admin_settings() (line 15 of /home/.../.../.../modules/twitter/twitter_signin/twitter_signin.pages.inc).

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$basename in twitter_signin_admin_settings() (line 15 of /home/.../.../.../modules/twitter/twitter_signin/twitter_signin.pages.inc).

Also, twitter won't recognize the callback URL provided in the setup process (. It gives me the following message:

Are you trying to specify a custom callback URL?
If so, put a placeholder URL in this field and set the callback dynamically during the request_token phase of OAuth

Am I missing something in the setup process? I looked into the patches, but I'm not sure if that covers this particular issue with tokens. Let me know if you need any more info.

At that line, the module is trying to loop over the images in the twitter_signin images directory, but it's not getting back what it expects. If you're using the Drupal 7 version of the module, it's possible you've run into something that hasn't been ported yet. I haven't tried the 7.x branch yet - I just created it based on the progress of other developers, sight unseen!

Yep. I navigated to the file and line 15 is this:

$options[$image->basename] = theme('image', array('path' => $image->filename));

But you probably already know that.

The button image actually doesn't show up for me, so I'm thinking that it is calling the wrong path.

I still can't get to the actual signin process either. Would this be holding it up?

If you're using the 7.x version, I don't have any idea whether _anything_ should work or not, because I haven't tested or reviewed the code. Are you using that version?

jasonglisson’s picture

Yes I am using 7.x

michaek’s picture

I'm going to have to leave this one alone for a while, as I'm focused on 6.x right now. If someone else gets to working this out before I do, that would be awesome!

jasonglisson’s picture

Ok. My PHP isn't that awesome, but I've been working on it for the last hour. So....yeah I'm giving it my best shot.

It's much appreciated - sorry I can't pitch in right now!

Hi,
I've installed this module on my D7 site and it renders the exact same error message.
Can you guys let me know if you solve this issue.

Thanks

jasonglisson’s picture

I'm going to work on it a little more today. I'll update my progress here.

After a lot of tinkering around with the code, line 15 still is giving me trouble. I was able to fill in $option with a default variable, which is listed further down in the code. This got rid of the error message and allowed for something to at least show up next to the radio button in the form.

So from there I tried to continue with the setup process and it did send me to Twitter to confirm the account. However, once it sent me back to my drupal site, there was nothing in the Twitter part of my account. It says "Page not found"

"Post to Twitter" is also not showing up in my node edit forms.

So...that's where I am, which isn't much.

I really think that many parts of this module have only begun the process of porting to Drupal 7, and there haven't been a lot of eyes on it (partly because there wasn't a 7.x branch on drupal.org until quite recently). What's really needed is for a maintainer to go through the module and see what's incomplete about the port - I'm definitely hoping to do this, but 6.x needs a lot of attention to stem the collapse of sites using the module: http://drupal.org/project/usage/twitter

jasonglisson’s picture

Yeah, I agree. I think the return from authentication part of the port over to 7.x is incomplete. Nothing really happened after I was sent back to my site from Twitter.

I'll keep hacking away at it and see what I can find out.

That's awesome - thanks!

having same issue

First thing to do is change this:
$options[$image->basename] = theme('image', array('path' => $image->filename));

to this:
$options[$image->filename] = theme('image', array('path' => $image->uri));

Then you will have at least some images in configuration dialog.

Yes, #16 works to show images and twitter settings are saved well.
However, not able to see "Post to Twitter" option while creating a new Basic Page.
Can somebody please point me to what I am missing?
Thanks!
