In both Firefox and IE when TinyMice is enabled and changes made to a post, user cannot navigate away without receiving the 'changes will be lost if navigating away from this page'. This occurs after selecting both preview and submit functions.

The title and text of your post seem conflicting to me: either you're losing changes (in which case the warning seems useful to me), or you're not. Seems to me to be the "auto save" "button" in the TinyMCE settings (http://yoursite/admin/settings/tinymce).
