I am posting this in the TinyMCE issue forum, because my question really is specific to TinyMCE, rather than Biblio module.

I use both modules (TinyMCE and Biblio). My users are middle school students (I'm an 8th grade teacher), and they have become used to formatting their pages with TinyMCE.

Now I want them to add bibliographic references to their pages. After creating a "Biblio" page, they need to reference their source within their book page. When entering it, It would look something like this:
"To be or not to be, that is the question." <bib>38</bib>
but when displayed, it should look like this:
"To be or not to be, that is the question." [1]

[1] Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare, W., (1616)

If I click "disable rich text", I am able to see the Biblio functionality without a problem. Unfortunately, the students really need to use the rich text formatting. If they don't disable rich text, then the page formats the text as "To be or not to be, that is the question." <bib>38</bib>

Is there any way that my students can combine their use of rich text AND biblio references in the same page?

I have been looking for an answer to this myself. I tried creating a custom button by substituting variables into a copy of a pre-existing plugin but it turns out javascript is a bit more complicated than I had expected :(.

I would be interested in that, too.

This is a massive issue for me too. I'm guessing that there might be some kind of answer in the flexifilter module. I will report any success/failures.

I can now tell you that version 6.x-1.x-dev of Biblio is compatible with FCKEditor, and possibly TinyMCE because it supports square brackets: [bib]citekey[/bib] or <bib>citekey</bib>
