Minimum Dot Size on lower band

In my timeline I have the upper band scale set to Day, and the lower scale set to Month. A number of events in the system are one hour or less. It seems that most of these events do not show up on the lower band at all, though some do. Owing to the fact that most of the items that do not show up share a taxonomy tag, I was thinking there was something there that might be interfering with their display, but further testing found that to be false and it seems that the scale just rounds off the size of the tape that would represent the event to less than 1 pixel high and tall (I hope I'm close in evaluating how that works).

Is it possible to force the code to display a dot of at least 1px by 1px for every event? Strangely, an event with no end date that just produces the bullet point on the upper band will always (so far) show up on the lower band. Only those with a duration of <2 hours or so seem to vanish, and then only sometimes.
