Taxonomy Redirections shows URL redirects related to taxonomy terms directly on their edit forms, making it easier for Drupal site administrators to review and manage redirects.

Features

  • Displays a URL redirects section on existing taxonomy term edit forms.
  • Finds redirects whose destination is the term's internal Drupal path.
  • Finds redirects whose destination is the term's URL alias.
  • Provides direct Edit and Delete operations for matching redirects.
  • Provides an Add URL redirect link pre-filled with the taxonomy term path.
  • Displays a clear message when no redirects are associated with the term.
  • Uses Drupal's entity and cacheability APIs to keep the displayed information consistent with the current term, redirects, and URL aliases.

This module is useful for site administrators and content editors who need to manage redirects associated with taxonomy terms without leaving the term editing interface. It is particularly helpful on sites where taxonomy terms are used as landing pages, categories, topics, or other navigational destinations.

Post-Installation

After installing and enabling the module, edit an existing taxonomy term. In the term edit form, expand the Advanced section and then open URL redirects.

From this section, you can:

  • Review redirects that point to the taxonomy term.
  • Edit or delete an existing redirect.
  • Create a new redirect using the Add URL redirect link.

The module does not provide a separate configuration page, new content type, field, or text format. It only adds information and actions to taxonomy term edit forms. The section is not displayed when creating a new taxonomy term.

Additional Requirements

This module requires the following:

  • Drupal 10 or Drupal 11.
  • The Drupal core Taxonomy module.
  • The contributed Redirect module.

The module uses Drupal's path alias system to detect redirects pointing to a taxonomy term's URL alias. Sites using taxonomy term aliases should also have Drupal core's Path Alias module enabled.

No additional modules or libraries are required beyond Drupal core's Taxonomy and Path Alias modules and the contributed Redirect module.

Similar projects

The Redirect module provides the underlying redirect entity and administration functionality. Taxonomy Redirections does not replace Redirect; instead, it complements it by displaying relevant redirects directly on taxonomy term edit forms.

Compared with managing redirects through the general Redirect administration interface, this module provides a contextual workflow focused on a specific taxonomy term. This makes it easier to identify redirects associated with that term and manage them without manually searching through all redirects.
