patchak commentedI agree, this is really needed, as sometimes merging is impossible cause terms are on multiple pages. I was going to post exactly the same thing!!
Is there any way we could have all terms on the same page, that would be a good workaround!

mh86 commentedThere is a way to increase the pager count. By default 50 terms are shown on one page. You can increase this number up to 500. Go to Administer -> Site Configuration -> Taxonomy Manager -> Pager Count.
I hope this information helps you

dankohn commentedI also have a free tag taxonomy with a couple thousand terms. There is no way currently to merge, for example, alpha and gamma, because those are more than 500 words apart. That means this is really a bug and not just a feature request.
The double pane function already works with the same taxonomy in both panes. One option would be to enable separate pagers for each pane, so that I can find alpha in the left pane and gamma in the right, and then merge. Thanks.

mh86 commentedIf terms are separated over multiple pages, I suggest to do the merging in multiple steps, one merge operation for each page (you can always merge into the same tag). the result of doing multiple merge operations is going to be the same as doing it in one step.
I know, this might not be a very convincing solution for your, but at the moment I'm not planing to improve the pager mechanism (patches are always welcome). And still I don't agree with the bug categorization ;-)

mherchelThanks for a great module mh86, but this is a severe usability issue (IMHO).
Your suggestion on #4 really isn't useful to me. I have thousands of terms, and if I need to merge a term that begins with an "A" with one that begins with a "Z", I have no way of doing this (this is a common scenario in my site).
It would be nice if you could flag terms (perhaps using the flag module?) and have them appear in the right hand side. Then you could select them with check boxes, and hit the merge button.
If I was a developer I'd be willing to help, although I'd be willing to help out with anything else (mockups, testing, documentation, etc)
Thanks,

HS commentedThis issue makes this module unusable! I have pager set to display 500 per page. I have a term that begins with the letter 'A' on the page 1 and another term beginning with 'S' on page 30. What do you suggest I do to merge the two?? You are incorrectly assuming the terms being merged always sit close to each other.
This is most certainly a bug BTW.

mdorrell commentedThis is a problem for me too. I will try to write a patch for this functionality, has anyone started one yet?
